Following extensive growth across our events portfolio, we are looking for an energetic professional to join our full time events management team.

Main Responsibilities:

Reporting to our Head of Events, this dynamic role is both exciting and challenging. The Events Assistant is required to support the event team in all administrative aspects of the business. Applicants should be able to present a professional image, be well organised and have the flexibility to balance a broad range of skills. The post will be based at Venture HQ in Andover; however, a significant amount of event work will be required across the South coast.

  • Supporting the Head of Events in the operational planning for various events including current and potential customer site visits
  • Ensuring effective communication between Venture Security’s management team, staff and customers
  • Accompany the Head of Events to client meetings and ensuring suitable notes are scribed with the potential of acting as a second point of contact
  • Supporting in the administration of event specific tasks including the sending of joining instructions and ensuring the online staff rota system is maintained and updated
  • Attending and supporting events operationally including the issuing of kit, staff welfare and event control
  • Managing staff rotas and shifts 
  • Supporting the development and arrangement of staff training
  • Updating social media pages and assisting with content for the company newsletter
  • Ensuring policy and procedures are updated and developed in line with legislation and company requirements
  • Organising, ordering and preparing event equipment and uniform in preparation for deployment
  • Undertaking ongoing continuous professional development

  • Starting salary is £21,000 + plus overtime + time off in lieu. Double time is paid on bank holidays

Candidate requirements:

  • Previous experience in event security would be beneficial but not essential as full initial and ongoing training will be provided
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be physically fit and able to work in a wide variety of environments in varying weather conditions
  • Have a high standard of personal appearance
  • Ability to work to high standards and remain calm under pressure
  • Must be prepared to work some weekends and bank holidays, including some events with late finishes
  • This role will require driving the company fleet vehicles so a full, clean UK driving licence is required
  • Must over 25 years old due to fleet insurance restrictions
  • Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and 10 year background checks
  • Able to use own initiative to assess situations and respond appropriately
  • A good timekeeper and able to plan own workload
  • Smart, well-presented and confident
