Vacancies - SIA Event Door Supervisors

Are you SIA licensed and looking for a new challenge?

The work of an event security operative is varied and interesting, covering outdoor events including festivals, sporting events etc. Applicants should be able to present a professional image, give customers confidence in their ability to create a safe environment and carry out their duties fairly and confidently.

Responsible to:

Depending on the size of the event applicants will either be responsible to the Head of Security or their Team Leader.

Role involves:

  • Working as part of a team
  • Meeting and greeting customers
  • Controlling entry to the event
  • Carrying out search procedures as needed
  • Patrolling event areas
  • Observation, particularly monitoring crowds for signs of stress or conflict
  • Dealing with and resolving conflict
  • Provide a physical security presence
  • Recording of incidents
  • Dealing with customer queries and complaints
  • Carrying out pre-event checks of venues where necessary
  • Monitoring crowds for signs of overcrowding and difficulties in busy areas
  • Reporting any security/safety concerns to your Team Leader or Event Control
  • Ensuring awareness of onsite facilities and be ready for questions from members of the public
  • Respond to emergencies - by raising the alarm and providing necessary and appropriate immediate help and assisting the emergency services as required
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both Written and Verbal
  • Communication with team members and event control via handheld radio

Flexibility is important due to the various shift times/days; the majority of our shifts are evening/weekends however there is the potential other work during week days.
