In the case of Andover manufacturer PLP, our two companies have now been working together for more than a decade, with the company highly valuing our quick response times and proactiveness.
Preformed Line Products (PLP) is a global technology manufacturer, with a team of 80 people based at its factory and offices in Andover. In 2022, the company will celebrate its 65th anniversary and proud history as an Andover manufacturer.
Prior to approaching Venture, employees at PLP worked on a rota basis to handle all alarm activations. However, following a number of unpleasant callouts in the early hours and not wishing to expose team members to increased risk – as it was never known what they may encounter when getting on site - PLP decided to outsource its security requirements.
Venture was a natural choice, being locally based and having a good reputation in the area.
John Bentley, Managing Director, PLP GB, explains: “It was really important for us to work with a local security provider, as opposed to a faceless national brand. I’m someone who likes to pick up the phone to speak with people and have really valued the opportunity to get to know the team at Venture. They are very approachable, friendly and responsive, which is the reason we have worked together so successfully.“
As well as attending the site when an alarm is activated, Venture also supports PLP by unlocking and then resecuring the premises, when employees need adhoc access out of hours. This ensures a seamless process and means PLP can have complete confidence that both the site and its employees are protected.
When Venture security officer Otis discovered that a pipe had burst and was threatening to flood the factory, he didn’t hesitate in taking action. By the time the team at PLP had been alerted and made it on site, Otis had already moved stock and been proactive in trying to limit the potential damage.
His actions and ongoing help that evening meant PLP experienced no product losses as a result of the flood and his proactive attitude was highly praised by the team.
