We’re looking for exceptional security officers to join our Roman Baths security team, helping protect the site for generations to come. With over a million visitors every year, including celebrities, dignitaries and other high-profile figures, it is a prestigious, historic site which dates back more than 2000 years in places!
Role & Responsibilities
As a member of our team, your role will be to protect the Roman Baths, including during special functions held on site, as well as ensuring the safety and security of council staff, visitors and colleagues.

We’re looking for a Security Officer who is friendly and welcoming, with a calm disposition. Ideally you will enjoy working with the public and be confident in de-escalating any situations that may arise.
You will be working closely with staff employed directly by the Roman Baths, so must thrive on working as part of a team and be able to take direction, whilst always maintaining your duties diligently and acting with integrity.
You will be smartly presented and report to work clean, tidy and on time.
Qualifications
You must have a valid SIA licence, ideally Door Supervision (DS) due to there being licensed evening functions. Close Protection (CP) licences are also eligible for this role and further training will be provided.
Pay and Salary
Currently pay during main opening hours is £11.50 per hour, plus holiday, pension, and benefits as listed above. You will be paid £12.20 per hour for special events.
Hours of Work
Variable, working both during the day and during the evening for event functions
