Security services in Winchester

The city of Winchester in Hampshire attracts more than four million visitors each year. With a thriving business district, historic Winchester, cathedral and numerous independent retailers and eateries, it is a popular destination for residents and tourists alike.

Winchester City Council, Simply Health and Winchester BID are just a few of the organisations we currently work with in the area, along with various professional services companies, including a large firm of solicitors, and a number of residential customers.

Here is a snapshot of the types of services we are providing.

Manned Guarding - Winchester City Council

One of the ways we support Winchester City Council is by providing static guarding for two social housing schemes, out of hours. Our officers carry out checks on the buildings, making sure noise is at an acceptable level and ensuring unwanted visitors do not gain entry.

Since being appointed, a far calmer and safer environment has been created. The officers are a reassuring presence for service users and complaints from neighbouring residents have stopped.

Town & City Centre Security - Winchester BID Rangers

Winchester Business Improvement District (BID) has been in operation since April 2008 and delivers a range of services and initiatives designed to support local businesses.

Venture has been working with Winchester BID for more than two years, providing Rangers who conduct daily patrols of Winchester city centre. The highly visible presence of the Rangers helps to minimise crime and antisocial behaviour, while offering reassurance to retailers, visitors and residents. They provide frontline customer service, as well as acting as a deterrent and taking pressure off the police.

A core part of the Ranger’s role is partnership working and they act as a central point of contact between key stakeholders, including the local council and police, to support Winchester BID in achieving its objectives and ensuring strong lines of communication are always open.

Event Security – Winchester Guildhall

Another service Venture has provided in Winchester for many years now, is event security. For example, we work with Winchester Guildhall, providing security for corporate events, weddings, concerts and other live music events.

We have also provided security for many ad hoc and seasonal events over the years, such as Winchestival, the annual Christmas lights switch-on event and even a visit from the Coca-Cola Truck!
