Managing Director
Paul has worked in the Security Industry for more than twenty-five years and established Venture Security in 2006. In this time, he has built a wealth of experience in the protection of people and assets. Paul has a BSc (Hons) from the University of Plymouth and is a qualified and experienced trainer and consultant. He is an enthusiastic and practical security director with an acute eye for detail and strives for perfection in all that he sets out to achieve. Paul has been an active member of the SIA’s Strategy and Standards Group and is a long-term member of the Security Institute. He is currently working towards his Masters in Business Leadership.

Director
Sara joined Venture full-time in 2013 as Office Manager, bringing with her over eight years of marketing and business development experience within the healthcare industry. She holds a BA (Hons) in Communications and Media and has a strong passion for effective communication and organisational growth. Over the years, Sara’s role has evolved significantly. She is now a Director and Venture’s General Manager, responsible for customer relations, project management, business development, and marketing. Sara plays a key role in overseeing the success of Venture’s accreditations and ensuring operational excellence across the business. She also provides essential strategic support to the wider management team, helping to drive the company’s ongoing growth and development.

Director of People Services
David joined Venture Security as Director of People Services following an extensive career in policing, where he held several senior leadership positions across local and national law enforcement. With 30 years of experience, he has a strong background in strategic leadership, people development, and operational management.
Prior to joining Venture Security, David served as Chief Superintendent with Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Joint Protective Services, overseeing specialist policing units, including armed response and public safety. He also led on local policing and community engagement initiatives, working closely with partner agencies to improve service delivery. Most recently, as Head of the National JESIP Team, he played a key role in enhancing multi-agency collaboration across the UK’s emergency services.
Passionate about people and professional development, David is committed to fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture at Venture Security. He oversees all aspects of recruitment, learning, and development, including the growth of Venture Training & Consultancy (VTAC) as a leading training provider in the security industry. David is one of our most experienced consultants and is available to advise clients on a range of security and policing matters.
Outside of work, David enjoys Krav Maga, endurance running, and has represented Bedfordshire Police in various competitive sports.

Head of Operations / Senior Security Consultant
Duncan has been an integral part of the Venture team for over 18 years. With a lifelong career in the events industry, Duncan took responsibility for Venture’s event security operations in 2015. In this role, he has overseen all aspects of strategic operational planning, security delivery, stewarding, and car park management across a wide range of events.
A key part of Duncan’s role involves liaising closely with clients, stakeholders, staff, and emergency services, ensuring that safety and security procedures are robustly maintained and that all relevant legislation is consistently upheld. His deep understanding of event protocols and procedures comes from extensive experience managing security and stewarding teams for both small-scale events and major greenfield site operations. Duncan holds a Level 5 qualification in Crowd Science and Risk Analysis, a Level 4 qualification in Spectator Safety Management, and is currently working towards his NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health & Safety. In addition, he is licensed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for both Close Protection and CCTV operations. Since 2024, Duncan is Head of Operations, with overall responsibility for overseeing all operational aspects of the business, continuing to ensure the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and service delivery.

Business Support Manager
Ronel has been Venture’s Office Manager since July 2024, leading the administration team and overseeing key aspects of facilities management and the operation of our control room.
An experienced administrator, Ronel first joined Venture in April 2021. Originally from South Africa, she thrives in fast-paced, people-focused environments. With strong organisational and communication skills, she plays a crucial role in supporting the head office team and Venture’s wider business development activities. Ronel’s hard work, attention to detail, and drive for excellence were quickly recognised, leading to her promotion to Office Manager. In her current role, she ensures the smooth running of our administrative functions and supports operational effectiveness across the business. Prior to joining Venture, Ronel worked as a Executive Personal Assistant to the CEO of a large manufacturing company for nearly 10 years. Before that, she gained valuable experience as a Administrator within the advertising industry.

Operations Manager: Events
Matt joined Venture as Operations Manager in March 2023 having worked within event security, resourcing and operations for more than a decade. He started his career in logistics working for the Ministry of Defence and has also worked as part of the events team at Wembley Stadium, supporting some of the UK’s biggest and most high-profile events, including London Olympics, major Music Concerts and Champions League finals. Matt directly supports the Head of Events in delivering our large events portfolio. Prior to joining Venture, Matt was in charge of Operations for Security & Stewarding and Traffic for a major provider. He is a Level 4 Safety Officer and a licensed CCTV operator.

Operations Manager: Guarding
Darren joined the team at Venture in early 2016 as an Event Steward before rising up the ranks to become a CSAS accredited City Centre Security Officer (CCSO) in 2018. Building a strong rapport with local residents and businesses, in May 2019 Darren received an ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction award for the role he played in disarming and detaining a man who was a threat to himself and others.
By January 2020, Darren had been promoted to Account Supervisor (Town & City Projects). As such, he managed our town and city centre projects in multiple locations across the region, managing a large team of security officers and liaising between customers and other stakeholders. Darren holds both DS and CCTV licences and has also carried out training in mental health first aid and safety for managers. Darren has recently been promoted to his current role in recognition of his skillset and ability to support and manager personnel as well as address the day-to-day needs of our guarding client base.

Operations Coordinator (Mobile and Events)
Sophie originally joined Venture as part of the event security team while studying at university, after gaining her SIA licence in October 2017. Enjoying the varied and people-focused nature of security work, she moved into the head office team in 2021 where she supported a number of account managers and operational teams.
Sophie brings extensive operational and event security experience to the organisation. She is NEBOSH qualified and supports health and safety matters across the business. Sophie regularly contributes to the delivery of events at all levels, including working within event control where she is an experienced loggist, radio operative and CCTV controller.
In her current role, Sophie also supports Venture’s mobile operations, assisting with the day-to-day coordination of services, operational administration, and field support when required. This includes helping ensure mobile deployments run efficiently, maintaining accurate operational records, and supporting the wider operations team to deliver a consistent, high-quality service.

Operations Supervisor
With a career in security that spans more than 16 years, Andy joined the team here at Venture in 2019 and has since risen up the ranks to become Guarding Operations Supervisor.
As such, he works closely alongside our head office team, to support the smooth running of our guarding operations across the region. This includes our Town and City Centre security teams. In spring 2023, Andy took the lead on the deployment of a new team in Swindon, after Venture was awarded a contract by Swindon Borough Council.
A confident and experienced officer, Andy has managed many challenging situations in his time, and thrives on the diversity of security, with no two days are ever the same. He holds various qualifications including being a CSAS accredited officer, first aid at work and mental health first aid, enhanced DBS, CCTV surveillance and ACT awareness,

Operations Administrator
Sophie joined Venture in 2023 and is a key member of the Operations department, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the business. An experienced administrator, Sophie excels in fast-paced environments and thrives when faced with complex challenges. She plays an important role in improving operational efficiency and developing processes across the organisation. As part of her role, she provides direct support to the Head of Operations, working closely across the guarding and events portfolios. With strong organisational skills and a proactive approach, Sophie brings structure, consistency, and reliability to a fast-paced operational environment.

Finance Officer
Oliver joined the team at Venture in 2024 as Finance Officer. As such, he is responsible for looking after the company’s finance function from beginning to end, including managing invoicing and payroll.
Detail-focused and with a passion for numbers, Oliver has worked for several local companies in Andover and the surrounding area, including Simplyhealth; where he started his career as an accounts payable clerk. He has also worked as a fund accountant, managing the financial reporting for private equity funds, and gained experience with a local bookkeeper.

Control Room Supervisor
Yurii joined the team at Venture in 2023 as Control Room Operator, going on to be promoted to Supervisor in October 2024.
Originally from Dnipro in Ukraine, Yurii moved to the UK in June 2022. Having spent 20 years working in air-traffic control, he decided to look at new opportunities within the security industry, with a wish to help make the world a better and safer place.
As Control Room Supervisor he is responsible for overseeing a team of Control Room Operators, making sure they retain high service standards and stay efficient, meeting all industry standards and client expectations
