Common
Questions

We believe in being as clear and as transparent as possible in every aspect of our business. Over the years we have been asked a number of questions and the most frequently asked ones have been captured.

  • Does it really matter that I have never seen my supplier’s insurance details?

Yes! Ensure you ask to see evidence of their level of cover and check the policy numbers with their insurance supplier or underwriter. So many do not have adequate cover and it is you who will be responsible if there is a claim.

  • How do I know that my security supplier’s staff are correctly licensed?

Visit the SIA Licence Checker, click on the ‘Go to the register’ link at the bottom of the page, and enter their 16 digit licence numbers. Ensure that the people who sign your duty register are those who are working at your premises. The SIA and licensing authorities are very strict with end users who employ those who do not have the correct licence.

  • We already have a supplier, so why should we consider Venture Security as an alternative?

You may have a completely reliable supplier, in which case there’s no need to change. However, so many security companies claim to provide quality, but few have what it takes to consistently provide a first-rate value for money service. Contact us today to discuss how we may be able to improve on your current security situation.

  • What is your mobile security service?

This is a series of separate services, all of which involve our patrol vehicles. Mobile security includes Keyholding and Alarm Response, Locks and Unlocks and Mobile Patrols. These services are all designed to offer a cost-effective alternative to the presence of a full-time guard. Clients are often surprised at just how affordable our keyholding service is typically just a few hundred pounds per year!

  • What level of insurance cover does Venture Security have?

Our public and employer’s liability cover are both for £10 million each. This is well above the industry standard and ensures we are adequately covered for the very largest contracts. We provide a copy of our current insurance certificate to every client so that they can check for themselves without having to ask.

  • How do I make a complaint?

Venture Security is committed to providing a high quality service. Unfortunately, despite all best intentions things can still go wrong. When this happens we need to be informed so that every effort can be made to put things right and to prevent such errors in future. We welcome comments or suggestions on ways to improve the current services we provide. Please click here to view our complaints policy. We believe in being completely transparent in our complaints process and therefore we have made available details of the types of complaints received and associated resolutions. Please click here to view a summary of our complaints.

  • How do you know your employees are reliable?

We are very careful about who we employ and our recruitment process is much more thorough than the industry standard. If we detect the faintest note of a bad attitude or poor communication skills during the initial contact we will not process an application. We undertake recruit screening to BS7858, which includes a minimum of five years employment references, as well as character, address and credit checks. Our area supervisors carefully monitor the performance of our staff to ensure that they meet our strict standards and regular appraisals are held to ensure any training needs are identified. Our mobile team, and those working in roles where they will come into contact with children and vulnerable adults, undergo screening to ten years and are Enhanced DBS checked prior to deployment.

  • What uniform do your staff wear?

This will depend on which service you require and can be flexible to meet your needs. You can rest assured that our staff will always arrive to work smart and presentable with clean shoes, a pressed uniform and a smile!
