Situation

Crescent Pharma based in Hampshire was founded in 2003 and employs more than 100 people. The fast growing, privately owned company produces and markets generic medicines, as well as over-the-counter consumer healthcare products. As one of the leading enterprises in UK healthcare, Crescent Pharma currently supplies an extensive range of medicines to the NHS, as well as exporting products to over 40 territories globally.

Originally based in Overton, Crescent moved its head office to a new larger site in Basingstoke in 2019. The company also has warehousing in Andover and Barnsley, and an associated manufacturing site in London.

Task

Venture Security has worked with Crescent Pharma since 2014, providing key holding and alarm response services. Venture was brought in to take responsibility for responding to alarm activations away from employees, relieving them of the need to visit the premises at unsociable hours and the risk of encountering intruders.

Action

In the event of an alarm, Venture will attend the site to investigate the cause when necessary. In the case of a break-in, Venture will call and liaise with the police and remain on site until the site is secure, with officers also being trained in crime scene preservation. A full report of every incident, including photographs where appropriate, are supplied to Crescent to ensure they are always kept fully informed. This includes offering advice and highlighting any maintenance issues that may be leading to false alarm call outs.
