Situation

Lawton Communications Group based in Grosvenor Square, Southampton, is a privately owned group of companies that encompasses two specialist communications agencies, Five by Five and Dragonfish.

For many years, the group had depended on staff members to unlock the premises in the morning and for the cleaning team to lock up at the end of each day. Staff members who were key holders would then work on rotation to respond to any alarm activations out of hours.

This all changed when Venture Security was brought on board in 2018.

Task

Lawton Communications Group required a professional security solution to manage:

Premises locks and unlocks
Alarm activations
Regular and comprehensive reporting

The goal was to remove the risk and responsibility from employees and ensure a consistent and secure process for opening and closing the premises, as well as responding to any alarm activations.

Action

Venture’s fully trained and SIA licensed security officers now manage all alarm activations, along with locks and unlocks for the two buildings. The officers check windows, blinds, and doors are closed, and lights are off; they also look out for any other maintenance issues.

Lawton is then provided with a detailed report and photos of anything that is not as it should be. Venture’s officers are aware of the bespoke requirements of the site and its alarm systems and support Lawton’s facilities manager to manage these, while their reports highlight areas where additional staff training may be required.
