Preformed Line Products (PLP) is an international designer and manufacturer of products and systems employed in the construction and maintenance of networks used by the communications, energy and solar industries.
The company’s UK operation employs a team of 80 people and serves customers from its large base in Andover, which includes a factory and offices.
PLP first approached Venture for support in managing its alarm activations in 2011. Prior to this, the company had handled alarms in-house, with employees needing to attend site on a rota basis. However, following a number of callouts in the early hours and not wanting to expose team members to increased safety risks, PLP decided to outsource its requirements.
As an Andover-based company with a good reputation, Venture was a natural choice. PLP did not want to work with a ‘faceless national business’, instead valuing the opportunity to work with and get to know a local team. The strength of the relationship formed between the two companies has subsequently seen Venture supporting PLP for more than a decade.
As well as attending the site when an alarm is activated, Venture also supports PLP by unlocking and then resecuring the premises, when employees need adhoc access out of hours. This ensures a seamless process and gives PLP confidence that both the site and employees are safe and secure.
